Fans of Chak De! India were in for a treat when Chak De! India director Shimit Amin interacted with them on Tuesday, January 8, at the film and television seminar organised by Commits, a Bangalore-based media college.
Joining Shimit Amin on the stage at 'Flickers 2008' were Anurag Kashyap, director of Black Friday and No Smoking. Rohit Vaid, the chief creative officer of Contiloe Films, a Mumbai production house, was the other main speaker at the event's morning session.
The post-lunch session featured four Commits alumni: Gaurav Momaya, the assistant director of Dhamaal; Faye D'Souza and Deep Pal, principal correspondents and anchors of CNBC; and Prema Sridevi, the Kerala bureau chief of Times Now.
In addition to the high profile filmmakers and journalists, Elvira Britto, who was the captain of the Indian women's hockey team that inspired Chak De!, was a special guest at the seminar. Chak De!, one of the most successful films of 2007, has captivated adults and youngsters alike and has also become the subject of case studies in many management colleges in India and abroad.
Flickers 2008 attracted not only film buffs and Chak De! fans but also students who aspire to be filmmakers, journalists, and television producers.
